Hunger in America

America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 Americans hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. We all know and are in contact with people affected by hunger, even though we may not be aware of it. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days. Most of us simply have no idea.

For over 35 years

The Marshfield Food Pantry has been providing food to our neighbors.

Each and every month close to 200 Marshfield families turn to the Marshfield Food Pantry for assistance. We listen to stories of working families struggling with low wages and high rent, the elderly living on a fixed income and unable to make ends meet due to increased cost of living, and folks who are dealing with the medical expenses or caring for an ill or disabled loved one.

They are our neighbors, friends, family. The Marshfield Food Pantry is here for all.

The Marshfield Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that relies on the support of volunteers and the generosity of the community to continue our work. We partner with churches, clubs and schools throughout our town to bring awareness to the issue of hunger in our community.

At each visit, families receive a weeks’ worth of groceries: healthy fruits and vegetables, meat and protein to prepare family meals, breakfast foods

But we do so much more:

  • Snacks for the kids

  • Pet food

  • Personal care items

  • Thanksgiving and Holiday meals
